Our client – a well known events company, based in Central London – are currently going through a company wide migration from Azure and Power BI to the modern data stack technologies of Snowflake and Matillion. They are looking for a data engineer to help them with this project and move the company into a new chapter of technology.
Responsibilities:
As the senior data engineer, you’ll report into the data and insight manager and your key duties will include:
- You will help understand business requirements, and translate those into technical requirements, design patterns and stories for development.
- Being the lead technical expert specially in Snowflake and Matallion tools.
- Being a team player, with enthusiasm and a passion for data that enables our clients to succeed.
- Understanding Requirements, turning them in to documented requirements with use cases, and translating them to tested units of code or execution for delivery.
- Produce and justify solution designs and address implementation concerns.
- Translating business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses.
- Creation of data pipelines and delivery of data including defining and implementing dataflows, how they are managed and change management.
Skills & Experience:
We are looking for someone that has a strong mix of the following skills and experience:
- Expert lever Snowflake.
- Proficient using Matallion.
- A minimum of two years commercial experience.
- Snowflake (preferably SnowPro Core certified or above)
- Understanding of data management capabilities, from CDC through to visualisation (proficient)
- Understanding of Data Profiling and categorisation techniques (proficient)
Experience with Tableau is desirable but not a deal breaker.
