Job Summary:
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Data Project Manager to join our dynamic Professional Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex data-focused projects on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform, working closely with our sales team and clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in AWS data services, excellent project management skills, and a proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations across cloud, data, and application domains.
Responsibilities:
- Project Delivery: Manage the full project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- AWS Data Expertise: Provide deep expertise in AWS data services (e.g., Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR, AWS Glue, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon DynamoDB, etc.) and related technologies.
- Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing project expectations, providing regular updates, and building strong, long-term relationships.
- Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team during the pre-sales process to define project scope, estimate effort, and develop compelling proposals for data-focused AWS solutions.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams, including data engineers, software developers, and infrastructure specialists, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
- Requirements Gathering: Elicit and document detailed project requirements, working with clients and technical teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures (WBS), Gantt charts, resource allocation, and risk management plans.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential issues to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets.
- Budget Management: Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects are delivered within the agreed-upon financial parameters.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain project management best practices and methodologies, ensuring adherence to quality standards and client satisfaction.
- Reporting: Provide regular project status reports to clients and internal stakeholders, including progress updates, risk assessments, and budget summaries.
- Cloud, Data, and Application Integration: Oversee projects that span across cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and application development, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with client business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
- AWS Certified Project Management Professional is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing data-focused projects on the AWS platform.
- Strong understanding of AWS data services and related technologies.
- Experience working with sales teams in a pre-sales capacity, including proposal development and client presentations.
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
