Job Summary:

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Data Business Analyst to join our dynamic Professional Services team. In this role, you will work closely with our AWS Data Project Managers and clients to analyse, define, and document business requirements for data-focused projects on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that our data solutions meet client objectives and deliver maximum value.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Collaboration: Work directly with clients to understand their business goals, data challenges, and requirements related to AWS data projects.
  • Requirements Elicitation: Elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements through workshops, interviews, surveys, and other techniques.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse client data to understand its structure, quality, and potential for supporting business needs.
  • AWS Data Expertise: Apply knowledge of AWS data services (e.g., Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR, AWS Glue, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon DynamoDB, etc.) to contribute to solution design.
  • Solution Definition: Collaborate with solution architects and data engineers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and design documents.
  • Process Mapping: Create process flow diagrams, use cases, and other models to illustrate current and proposed data workflows.
  • Data Modelling: Contribute to the development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Testing and Validation: Participate in testing and validation efforts to ensure that data solutions meet business requirements and are implemented correctly.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain project documentation, including business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories, and data dictionaries.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and technical teams to ensure alignment on project goals, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Business Acumen: Develop a strong understanding of the client's business domain and industry to provide relevant and effective data solutions.
  • Support Project Delivery: Assist the Project Manager in ensuring the successful delivery of data-focused AWS projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Business Analyst certification (e.g., Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA)) is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on data-related projects.
  • Experience working on projects involving Amazon Web Services (AWS) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a client-facing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Agile project methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with AWS data services, including but not limited to: Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR, AWS Glue, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon RDS.
