Brendon Whitfield

I moved into recruitment after starting out in software development, where I realised something important was missing - the human element. I’ve always been drawn to fast-paced environments where there’s constant learning and a chance to work closely with people, and that’s exactly what I found at Sentinel. Recruitment brought everything together for me: genuine connection, personal growth, and the opportunity to solve real-world challenges alongside clients and candidates, whilst finding a workplace that feels like home.

At Sentinel, I’ve found a real passion for the role - working closely with industry leaders to understand technical hiring needs and matching them with exceptional talent, often introducing opportunities that weren’t even on someone’s radar. I focus primarily on the Swiss market, supporting large-scale enterprises and high-growth businesses across development, DevOps, and broader IT functions. My background in tech allows me to speak confidently with both candidates and hiring teams, and I enjoy diving deep into the technical side of things - every conversation is a chance to learn something new and deliver real value.

Outside of work, sport is my main passion - football especially (lifelong United fan, for better or worse) - but I’ll happily get stuck into anything from golf and darts to cricket. When I’m not watching or competing at sport, I’m usually playing music - singing or butchering Billy Joel on the piano. I also spend a lot of time with friends and family, trying to switch off and enjoy the moments in between the busy weeks.
