Are you looking for the opportunity to manage an entire BI function and join a growing business focusing on data?

I’m working with a data focused consultancy who are looking for a new BI leader to develop and enhance their BI and Power BI practice and build out the function to offer more solutions to their clients, mostly based in the public sector. They have growth plans to double this business unit over the next two years and you will be pivotal in this.

They’re keen to find someone who can work autonomously but also collaboratively across the organisation as the ‘go to’ BI lead. This is an opportunity to really leave your mark and take the existing function from design to define and then deliver on a new career pathway for junior members of the team. As Analytics & BI Practice Lead, you will be working with external customers on a wide range of projects including large scale data and transformation government programmes.

Responsibilities:

-         Shape and develop the existing BI practice to align with internal business plans for growth.

-         Establish and maintain strong relationships with other leads across the business, so you can contribute to sharing knowledge and improvements in working practices for all roles.

-         Responsible for setting the technical expectations of candidates for the Analytics & BI Practice team and supporting the Head of Practice in recruitment of data analysts.

-         Work independently on establishing opportunities in the market and help manage bids.

Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone that has a strong mix of the following skills and experience:

-         Expert end to end level understanding of Power BI.

-         Experience in Fabric and Co-pilot are beneficial.

-         An Understanding of data models and where to use different types of data models. Such as Dimensional modelling and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP).

-         Experience with ETL tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

-         Relational database modelling, analysis, optimisation, star schema/ snowflake models, ETL (Extract Transform Load), normalisation, complex SQL queries, stored procedure, automation scripting.

-         The ability to work on own initiative in a deadline-driven environment.
